We carry out no less than 5 individual quality control checks throughout the manufacturing process to ensure we maintain the high level of quality that Penthouse Carpets are renowned for.
The vast majority of wool rich tufted carpets now have a synthetic backing. However, at Penthouse Carpets we’ve retained a more traditional approach.
We only use natural jute backing on all of our woollen carpets. Jute is the golden silky fibre produced from the stems of the Corchorus plant, which has been cultivated in India and Bangladesh for centuries, and is the mostly widely used natural fibre after cotton.
Integrating the fabric woven from this sustainable natural fibre into our carpets is not only better for the environment; it’s easier for your fitter to work with too; being flexible, strong and resilient, gives a superb finish even on tricky areas like your staircase.
